Due to the dissolution of the crew behind the show before its premiere, the status of the show is currently unknown as of 2023. Season 1 debuted February 21, 2020, while Season 2 premiered on August 17. Originally slated to air on Nickelodeon in 2019, the series became the second Nicktoon to be rebranded as a Netflix original following Pinky Malinky. The show follows the adventures of Miko Kubota (Monica Ray) and Hector "Five" Nieves (Ricardo Hurtado), two teenagers who gain tech support jobs at their city's Hinobi Store after they discover the location is actually a front for a local chapter of the gaming giant's covert ops division dedicated to stopping and containing the various monstrous "glitches" that have a tendency to exit the company's games. Glitch Techs is an animated action/adventure series produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios and created by Eric Robles ( Fanboy and Chum Chum) & Dan Milano ( Greg the Bunny). Good thing they have such great tech support. No, we're talking on the level of their consoles and arcade machines occasionally causing video game creatures to manifest in the real world. And we aren't talking hardware failure like the Red Ring of Death or Joy-Con drift. There's just one problem: their game consoles have some issues. Often times, they are glitches who contain modified coding within them.Hinobi Games is the most successful video game company in the world, with their products spreading joy to generations of gaming fans across the planet. They are glitches who can spawn clones of anything it touches. They are the only glitches known to act as a group, coordinated. Multiplayer glitches can only be captured by destroying their "respawn ship" first. Over time, the human mind will slowly merge into the possessor Glitch's code. The human copies the Glitch's appearance and physical capabilities. Possessor glitches can take over humans and most likely animals as well. Mapper glitches can change the appearance of both living and dead objects of the real world. Normal glitches are, most of the time, humanoid entities which cannot change the real world other than by physically interacting with it. Although they can't really digest what they consider food, some function might get triggered. If programmed to eat, they will try to do so in the real world as well. In " Age of Hinobi" Chomp Kitty mistakes balls in a ball pit and people for "pallets", and tries to eat them. This is also is why most Glitches are dangerous, since they run by video-game logic and don't comprehend the dangerous consequences of their actions, and see real-life creatures and objects as things from their game, interacting with the real world, their behavior can sometimes be seen as weird. Thus, glitches are predictable, and knowing the video game the monster is from is an advantage when fighting them, as they tend to still fall into the patterns that they followed in said games, like periodically exposing a weak point. Dialogue is fixed, and movements appear in patterns. Glitch intelligence is usually related to their base programming, so they tend to act as if they're still in their game. They could be a huge, green angry cat ( Chomp Kitty), a wrestling garbage monster ( Garbile), a big red friendly bird ( Ally), an army of zombies, a carnivorous plant, a vampire, medusa creature ( Count Nogrog), a small rabbit with a small helmet (Zoom Kazoom), a ( Narwhalrus), a karate rooster ( Karate Master), and the list goes on. This is due to them originating from all kinds of different video games. When not in their root form, each glitch will differ in appearance. If its energy depleted, a glitch reverts back to its root form. Once the root glitch comes in contect with computer data (often from the machine it leaked from), it draws from that information to determine its appearance, and, if an entity, it's personality.Ī glitch needs glitch energy to maintain its form. Every glitch leak begins in its root form, resembling a small wisp of electricity. A glitch is a physical manifestation of program code, often appearing in the form of an object or entity.
